Collaborative Family Law
If you opt for the traditional court-led approach to family disputes, the court will impose a solution which is unlikely to please anyone.
For that reason, many couples choose to settle their differences at some point along the process and certainly before a final hearing.
Collaborative Family Law offers an alternative approach. You and your partner each instruct a lawyer who is trained as a collaborative family law practitioner and
everyone agrees that no-one will make any application to court unless it is agreed and necessary to complete the process
(such as the issue of a petition or lodging a consent order).
The issues between you are addressed at a series of meetings between both parties and your respective lawyers. The aim is to find a solution which is acceptable to everyone.
